Who we are
Rachel Anne Clarke, a sole trader trading as The Tattoo Trip, is the data controller responsible for the customer information described in this notice. Contact: 4 Camp Hill Drive, Nuneaton, CV10 0JX, United Kingdom; hello@thetattootrip.co.uk; 07425 768829.
Information we use
When you order, we use your name, email, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses, order details, personalisation text and payment status. When you contact us, we use the details and messages you provide. Newsletter sign-ups provide an email address. Our website and service providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser information and essential shopping-session data.
Please avoid sending sensitive information or information about other people that we do not need. Personalised text may contain a name belonging to someone else; provide only the text needed for your design.
Why we use it
Orders and enquiries: to answer requests, make personalised products, take payment, deliver orders and provide customer support. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract and performing our contract with you.
Records and obligations: to keep accounting records and meet legal duties. Our lawful basis is legal obligation.
Security and complaints: to protect the shop from abuse, investigate problems and handle disputes. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure business and resolving issues fairly, balanced against your rights.
Newsletter: if you choose to subscribe, to send The Tattoo Trip updates. Our lawful basis is consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by using an unsubscribe link where provided or emailing us. Buying something does not automatically subscribe you.
Who receives information
Hostinger provides our website, shop and form storage. Stripe & PayPal process online payments; the checkout identifies the payment service used. We receive transaction information rather than your full card details. Royal Mail receives the information needed to deliver your parcel. Relevant professional advisers or authorities may receive information where necessary for accounting, legal duties or a dispute. We do not sell customer information.
Service providers may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer takes place, an applicable adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual safeguards are required. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your data. Providers also explain their processing in their own privacy notices.
How long information is kept
We keep order and payment records for the period needed to meet tax and accounting obligations and deal with relevant legal claims. Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to answer the enquiry and handle reasonable follow-up or a related dispute. Newsletter details are used until you unsubscribe or the mailing list is discontinued; a minimal record may be kept to respect your request not to receive marketing. Information no longer needed for these purposes should be deleted or anonymised. You can ask us about the retention period applying to a particular record.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer, and object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing. You can withdraw consent without affecting processing already carried out lawfully. Some rights have exceptions, including where records must be kept by law.
Email us to make a request. We may need to check your identity. We normally respond within one month, subject to extensions allowed by law. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We would also welcome the chance to resolve a concern directly.
